Charlotte Apituley is a Dutch photographer who lives and works in Amsterdam.
Growing up on the Dutch countryside, her work is inspired by nature in it’s beauty, rawness, and sometimes cruelty.
With a background and education in fashion and advertisement, Charlotte has a sharp eye for beauty and warmth but does not hide reality.
Apituley graduated – cum laude – at the Fotoacademie Amsterdam in May 2017 with Tunica, ‘about earth, about women, and men. It’s about our humanity, our human nature. About the inevitable cycle of birth and death. It’s about our bodies, our skin and how we are connected.’
“Photography gives me presence. It creates compassion and a feeling
of belonging. It’s my way to connect. With nature, humanity, creativity.
My photography is a search for beauty in the unexpected.”
